Privacy policy

Last reviewed: 19 October 2026

This policy explains what Free Fasting Calc does with information about you. The short answer is very little: there are no accounts, no cookies, no advertising and no analytics, and the tools work in your browser.

Who is responsible for your data

Free Fasting Calc (freefastingcalc.com) is the data controller. You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].

What the tools do with the numbers you enter

Every calculator runs in your own browser. The weight, height, meal times, cycle day, symptoms and other details you type are worked out on your device and are never sent to us or stored on a server.

What is stored on your device

The site sets no cookies. Two things are stored in your browser, and only because the feature you are using needs them:

  • The fasting timer keeps your current fast, chosen schedule, streak, number of completed fasts, a list of fasts you have ended and whether you asked for an alert, in your browser's local storage. It stays until you clear your browser data. Nobody else can see it, including us.
  • Offline pages. Pages you have opened are saved in your browser's cache so the site works without a signal. You can clear them in your browser settings.

Two features ask your browser for permission first, and you can say no:

  • "Use my location" on the Ramadan schedule uses your location in your browser to work out sunrise and sunset. It is not sent anywhere or stored.
  • Timer alerts use your browser's notifications, only if you tick the box on the timer page.

Files you download (a calendar file or a CSV of your fasts) are created on your device.

When you visit the site

Like any website, our web hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and the pages requested, so it can deliver the site and protect it from attack. We do not use this to identify you, and we run no analytics or advertising on top of it.

When you email us

If you email [email protected], our email forwarding provider passes your message to our mailbox, and we see your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to fix anything you report. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you. We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your message and delete them within 12 months. We never sell or share them.

Our hosting and email providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the safeguards the law requires apply.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. Because we hold almost nothing, the answer is usually just your emails to us.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, email us first and we will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the UK data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

This site is not meant for anyone under 18, and fasting is not advised for children and teenagers. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If the site ever adds analytics, advertising or anything else that uses your data, this policy will say so first, and anything that needs your consent will ask for it before it runs. The date at the top shows when the policy last changed.
